About the Author

 

Stacey Perez-Carrasco is the Executive Director/Principal for Temecula International Academy. She received her Doctorate of Education in Teacher Leadership from Walden University. She completed her second Masters, at University of Phoenix, in Education/Administration and Supervision. She is a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in Education. She received her B.S.M., M.Ed, and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from University of Phoenix, where she was the recipient of the Teach It Forward Award. Stacey has dedicated herself to making a difference in education through personalized learning for each and every student. As a classroom teacher, she taught first, third, and eighth grades, as well as leadership, resiliency training, and completed the Leadership Institute for The Classical Academies. In 2022, she was asked to participate in numerous panels,  including the National Charter School Conference, the California Charter School Conference, and the National Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Hispanic Journalists Conference. In 2021, Dr. Perez was the face of Education for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Annual Report. She is also a presenter/public speaker at numerous California Charter School Conferences, California Consortium for Independent Study and APLUS Conferences. Dr. Perez was chosen to participate in Leadership North County, Class of 2018, where she has connected with other leaders to help make an impact in the community. In addition, she is recognized as a national speaker on public education, charter schools, and independent study programming for youth.
